The Western Oasis at the Calgary Stampede is my favourite hideout to get away from the heat and the crowds and the chaos. I always like to exhibit something the crowds might like to see. This year I had five quilts in the show - two individuals and three in group quilts.
Mountain Forms
This is based on Lawren Harris' "Mountain Forms" 1929. It is 5' X 5'.
Postage Stamp
This was my first postage stamp quilt. I started it during Covid - over 11, 000 1.5" squares. It took me over two years, but it looks great on my bed.
I love it - looks great on any bed.
Canadian Two Dollar Bill
Seven of us: Sandra Melnik, Vanecea Greene, Kim Morrison, Ann Picciano, Linda Rotstein, Esther Rojek and I decided tp make this quilt for fun. It turned out to be a great success, and won two ribbons!
I did section two - the crest. Pretty proud to be involved in this project.
Wainwright Hotel & City of Calgary Manhole Cover
The Quilted Mouse Guild decided to put together a Calgary Quilt. We would all make sections in increments of 5" and they would all be be put together to display. There was a challenge called Taste of Calgary and our quilt won. Below is the completed quilt.
