Finally, I went to Asilomar in Pacific Grove, California (near Monterrey & Carmel). I was very excited. Unfortunately, I didn’t sign up right away and half the classes were full, but I was lucky to get into a class with Denise Oyama Miller & Nancy Ryan. They had a new method of doing landscapes that I wanted to try. Part of it was a take-off from Noriko Endo’s style and part of it was similar to Susan Carlson’s style. Anyway, I loved it.
There were 12 international teachers, and 200 women (& men) from all over, mostly Americans and Canadians, but there were a others from Australia, South Africa and elsewhere. There was such a good feeling around. So many wonderful ideas and people. A very inspiring week.
We had an amazing faculty. They included:
Cindy Needham, Denise Oyama Miller,Nancy Ryan, Melinda Bula, Susan Brubaker Knapp, Rosalie Dace, Meri Henriques Vahl, Pam Holland, & Jenny Bowker.
